At a Glance
NorthPoint rents four concrete finishing and placement tools in NH: the walk-behind power trowel for slab finishing, the Wacker Neuson M2500 concrete vibrator for consolidating fresh pours, the Wacker Neuson P35A screed for leveling and screeding, and a manual bull float for initial surface work. These tools are used during and immediately after a concrete pour to produce a quality finished slab.
The Fleet
The walk-behind power trowel is used after concrete has been poured, screeded, and bull floated, and has set enough to support the machine without sinking. Rotating blades compact and smooth the surface as the concrete cures, producing a harder, denser finish than hand troweling. Standard for any NH concrete pour larger than a small footprint — garage slabs, basement floors, driveways, and commercial flatwork.
The Wacker Neuson M2500 internal concrete vibrator consolidates fresh concrete by eliminating trapped air bubbles, voids, and honeycombing that form during placement. Proper vibration is critical for structural concrete — walls, columns, footings, and slabs. The M2500 is inserted into the fresh concrete and withdrawn in slow, overlapping passes as placement continues. Consolidating with a vibrator significantly improves strength and surface appearance.
The Wacker Neuson P35A is a power screed for leveling and striking off fresh concrete to the desired grade or elevation. The vibrating screed board consolidates the surface layer while floating excess concrete off the top, producing a flat, level surface ready for bull floating and final finishing. Dramatically faster than hand-screeding on any pour larger than a small slab.
A manual bull float for the initial flattening and smoothing of fresh concrete after screeding. The bull float pushes down aggregate, closes surface voids, and brings paste to the surface in preparation for troweling. Typically used after the power screed and before the power trowel in the finishing sequence. At $15/day, the bull float is NorthPoint’s most affordable concrete tool rental.
