Hose KIt 2in 20 ft suction 50ft discharge hose quick connect

Products -> Pumps Rentals

This 2" hose kit pairs a 20-ft reinforced suction hose with a 50-ft discharge hose and quick-connect fittings — everything you need to get a 2" pump running without sourcing hoses separately or cobbling together mismatched connections on site. NorthPoint rents it as a standalone add-on at all five New Hampshire locations, so if you're already picking up a pump, the hoses can come with it.

Description

A pump without the right hoses is just dead weight on the trailer. This kit was put together specifically for 2" pump rentals — one suction hose, one discharge hose, quick-connect fittings on both ends, and nothing left to figure out at the job site. The 20-ft suction length handles most standard setups where the pump is sitting at grade and pulling from a pit, sump, or flooded trench below. The 50-ft discharge gives you enough reach to clear water well away from the work area without having to reposition the pump mid-job.

The quick-connect fittings are where this kit earns its keep. Standard threaded connections on a dewatering setup mean turning a stiff fitting by hand in cold weather, often with wet gloves, on a hose that's already under tension. The quick connects snap and lock in seconds. They're sized specifically for 2" pump inlets and outlets, so there's no adapter hunting and no leaking collar when you're at full flow. Browse our full pump rental lineup to see which machines this kit pairs with directly.

The suction hose is reinforced to resist collapse under vacuum — that's not a minor detail. A thin-wall hose on the suction side will pinch closed the moment the pump builds any draw, and you'll spend 20 minutes diagnosing a "pump problem" that's actually a collapsed hose. The discharge hose is built for pressure and flexibility, so it lays flat on uneven ground without kinking at the pump outlet or at the discharge point.

Most renters picking this up are pairing it with one of our 2" trash or water pumps for foundation dewatering, trench work, or site drainage after a rain event. It's also a common add-on for landscapers draining retention ponds or contractors managing water on road work projects across our New Hampshire service area. If you're running multiple pump rentals across active job sites, a charge account with NorthPoint keeps things simple on the billing end.

One thing worth knowing before pickup: confirm your total discharge run before you leave the counter. Fifty feet covers most single-trade dewatering jobs, but if your cleanout or discharge point is further than that, you may need a second discharge hose. We stock them — just ask. Our five locations across New Hampshire carry this kit in stock, and we back every rental with our best price guarantee if you find the same setup cheaper locally.

Is 50 feet of discharge hose enough, or should I plan for more?
It depends on where you're discharging to. Most trench and foundation dewatering jobs where the discharge point is a storm drain, ditch, or property edge within 50 feet are fine with this kit. If you're pumping across a full lot or need to reach a specific drainage point further out, grab a second discharge hose — we rent them individually. Better to have it and not need it than to be stretching a single hose at full flow and losing head pressure at the end.
Why does the suction hose need to be reinforced — can't I just use a regular hose?
A standard garden hose or thin-wall discharge hose on the suction side will collapse under the vacuum the pump creates. It'll look fine sitting still, then pinch flat the moment the pump starts pulling. The reinforced suction hose holds its round shape under negative pressure. It's not interchangeable with the discharge hose — use them on the correct ends.
What's the right way to disconnect the hoses when the job is done?
Shut the pump off first and let residual pressure bleed before disconnecting. The quick connects release with a collar twist — don't force them under pressure or you'll get a face full of muddy water. Once disconnected, hold the suction hose end up to drain it before rolling it, and walk the discharge hose from the pump end toward the discharge end to push the water out rather than trapping it inside. Return both hoses drained and rolled — not wadded up.
